Who We Are
The Morongo Basin Conservation Association is a totally volunteer 501(c)3, community-based, California Nonprofit Corporation, incorporated in 1969 and dedicated to preserving the economic and environmental welfare of the Morongo Basin. MBCA's mission is to advocate and educate for a healthy desert environment which nurtures wildlands and our communities’ rural character, cultural abundance, and economic well-being.
How We Do It
We focus on:
- Education and information
- Collaborative efforts with citizens, officials, and other organizations
- Support of community-based organizing and solutions

Annual Events
January
MBCA's Annual Meeting is held each year in late January and includes both a review of MBCA's accomplishments and goals and a content program about relevant current issues. Screen a video of the 2021 Annual Meeting which was focused on Carbon in the Earth's Atmosphere with JPL Scientist Dr. AnnMarie Eldering. Our 2022 Annual Meeting presentation was titled "The Last Joshua Tree? Climate Change and the Future of this Iconic Species" by Chris Clarke and Brendan Cummings.

MBCA's premier event, the Desert-Wise Living Landscape Tour, takes place during a weekend in late April. Check out our video tours via our YouTube channel.

A Desert-Wise Living Program (lecture or workshop) is presented on a Saturday during one of these fall months. Here is a report about the October 2019 fall lecture about the future of water in the Basin.
