MBCA will award three $1000 scholarships to support college or university enrollment in 2024-25 for three Morongo Basin graduating seniors who have a strong interest in environmental and conservation issues.

Any major or degree program will be considered, with a preference for STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). Among the three scholarships, we expect to award one to a female student, and one to an "arts" major in memory of local artist and conservationist Steve Rieman. Applicants must demonstrate in their application essay how environmental conservation relates to their education and career goals. 

Majors from A to Z might include:

Art/Architecture, Biology, Conservation, Desert Studies, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Fire Ecology, Geography, Geology, Hydrology, Ichthyology, 
Environmental Justice, Kinesiology, Land Management, Media, Native American Studies, Outdoor Recreation, Planning, Quantum Physics, Renewable Energy, Science, 
Solar Energy, Technology, Urban Planning, Veterinary Medicine, Wildlife, Xeriscape, Youth Education, Zoology
